Научная программа:
Lava/tephra and volcanic gases are two phases released to the surface at sites of active volcanism. Both have their source in crustal magma
reservoirs. In recent years, our understanding of the rates and processes of magma evolution and transfer has progressed significantly, based on
U-series, geospeedometric, and modeling work. At the same time, advances have been made in monitoring and modeling magma degassing, and the release of
volcanic gases and aerosols into the atmosphere, with implications for magmatic processes and volcanic hazards. This meeting will provide a forum to
discuss interdisciplinary approaches in constraining magmatic and volcanic processes, and to improve hazard mitigation strategies.
